If they are rarer, it might actually take effort/money for destroyer weapons.

I say /sign nerfing all solo farmers in every way possibly imaginable. Ow8, Anet already did!

Regardless of how little they're worth now, it is disappointing to see gems pop out of an end chest. If they were rarer and worth more, it'd be better, but it's more fun getting golds. Perhaps make it so that in places where the chest drops more than one item, only one of them can be a gem.

I know when I was working on filling my HoM I was happy to get a double gem drop. Second, the only reason the gems are cheap at the traders is because there are a lot of them. People who use them for making destroyer weapons enjoy this fact, and reducing the amount being found will raise the cost of them. Third, dungeon rewards are not there to make people money. Although not directly, this idea seems to be asking Anet to raise the minimum wage for working at McDonalds. "Gems are cheap, so I don't want to get so many" is basically what I hear, and although not asking for rare golds in exchange, that is exactly what will drop (or tomes). Lastly, the only reason I see you asking for this change is because you want more profit from doing dungeons. Dungeons are not there to provide profit. They do provide some monitary rewards for sure, but the point of them is to have fun, work on the titles, and tell the game's story.

Gems are what? 100gl at the trader? I you cant afford that, dont even attempt to fill HoM... Not for a while at least...
Totally /signed!!!
The only thing more aggravating than a gem drop is not being able to...idk rupt meteor shower. xD

Funny, since I clearly stated "farming Raven's Point with a few friends".
And MisterB, I did a search and nothing popped up for me. ^^

This game should not be about getting gold as fast as possible. If you are only doing something for the dungeon reward and not the enjoyment of the experience... why are you playing.

550+ speeclear runs of Shards of Orr and only got one BDS. fix drop rates, and nerf speedclear at the same time would be good though.
those 550 runs took ~20-25 minutes average. I've done the dungeon many times without speedclear and it's taken ~2-3 hours.
550 runs for one BDS at ~2-3 hours a run is lol. speedclear is the only option with drop rates like those.
but I will /sign for drop rates in general. not saying make them every run or something. but at least a 3-5% chance. it would give SOME incentive for 'regular' groups to do dungeons.

Because if they limit to only 1 gem per drop slot or lower its rate suddenly the ENTIRE game becomes a race about getting gold , sure pal.

Yeah right , no one in GW plays for the rewards/titles .... they all do it for fun. Seriously , you take a grain of sand and turn it into a desert.

If chests drop a rare material (diamond/onyx) and some other item much like how the Deep/UW/etc chests work.

Exactly. The fact that SF and 600/Smite is (probably) getting ruined gives even more incentives to fix the ridiculous drop system because people can't hide behind the "but SF abuser will get infinite gold in one day" argument anymore.
In fact they need to apply this to every area in the game.
P.S. The funny thing is that 550 runs x 3 hours is over 1500 hours...far longer than most people's total guild war play time. A lot of people only have about 1500 hours after 4 years of play...If I'm going to spend that much time getting an optional cosmetic upgrade I might as well be playing a korean grinder RPG.

If ANet got off it's ass and nerfed dungeon running closer to when it started, gems may have been worth the drop.
This thread is just complaining about the loss of the status quo, unfortunately, the status quo shouldn't have existed in the first place.
Once the 'ol 600 gets the nerf bat, maybe they'll jump to about 800g in price and will end up worth the gold slot.

ANY OTHER DROP is better than a diamond or onyx.

when i think of dungeons, i think of epic adventure with my party that rewards me in terms of story and loot. as it stands these dungeons are nothing more than shite title grind. if dungeons weren't required for legendary master of the north, there would be close to zero activity in them.

I've noticed of late that Doomlore has been getting more and more empty, even with the nerfs coming.. Why? Because ppl are sick of zero worth dungeons..Run, party or otherwise.
